  MISSION

The Minot Head Start is committed to the growth, well-being and literacy of the families we serve.  We recognize parents as the primary teachers in thei child's life.  We empower families.
To achieve this we will:

• Foster individual empowerment, self-esteem and independence;
• Inform, educate and work to enhance parents' and children's understanding about physical health, mental well-being, prenatal development and nutrition;
• Enhance physical, social, cognitive, emotional and language development through child centered activities that are developmentally appropriate;
• Accentuate the importance of the positive relationship between parent/child/classroom as the key to overall learning;
• Collaborate and advocate with other agencies for parent involvement within the community; and
• Collaborate, advocate and support the broader dchild care community to enhance the overall quality of care for our children.
