ND Math Corps is seeking tutors to help 4th through 8th grade students who need extra support learning to math skills for the 2022-2023 school year. Tutors work in small groups for 90-minute sessions with a caseload of students on a set daily schedule. North Dakota Math Corps provides comprehensive training in strategies proven to help students learn, so tutors are well equipped to help students grow. This part-time AmeriCorps position requires a 9-month commitment for the school year beginning in September, 5 days a week for 15 or 28 hours per week. Tutors work during the school day while school is in session.
Perks as A Tutor:
AmeriCorps is a national service program that provides monthly stipends in lieu of an hourly wage. Tutors receive a $1,350, $1,025, or $675 monthly living allowance and an education award of up to $3,247, $2,474, or $1,718 (depending on hours served). The education award can be used for college tuition and current student loans. Tutors who are 55 or older may choose to transfer their education award to a child, grandchild, or foster child.
