Our mission: empowering all learners to succeed in a changing world.

As one of North Dakota’s largest school districts, we serve approximately 7,300 students through a comprehensive system of schools and programs designed to meet our community’s needs at every level.

We operate eleven elementary schools, four middle schools, and three high schools. Within the city of Minot, we operate nine elementary schools serving students in grades K-5: Bel Air, Edison, John Hoeven, Lewis and Clark, Longfellow, Perkett, Roosevelt, Sunnyside, and Washington. Two additional elementary schools, Dakota and North Plains, are located on Minot Air Force Base, fifteen miles north of the “Magic City.”

Our four middle schools include Jim Hill, Central, and Erik Ramstad within the city, plus Memorial Middle School on Minot Air Force Base. At the secondary level, we have Minot High School, Minot North High School, and McKinley Alternative Learning Center, ensuring students have access to education that fits their goals and aspirations. Additionally, we operate a Head Start preschool program and an Adult Learning Center to support lifelong learning and community growth.

Our vision: fostering active citizens who possess the work ethic, creativity, and collaborative skill set needed to empower students with the personal responsibility and self-advocacy necessary to be successful in their career pathway.

We believe that personal responsibility is the foundation of integrity, self-advocacy empowers students to take ownership of their futures, and a strong work ethic provides the perseverance needed to overcome challenges. We also believe that creative problem-solving, effective collaboration, and active citizenship are essential skills for success in today's world.

Through rigorous academics, career and technical education, fine arts, athletics, extracurricular opportunities, and strong partnerships with families and community organizations, Minot Public Schools is dedicated to creating learning environments where every student feels valued, challenged, and supported. Guided by our mission, vision, and beliefs, we are preparing the next generation of leaders, innovators, and engaged citizens to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.
