Parents/Guardians - Accessing PowerSchool via the Website Portal
There are ongoing issues with the PowerSchool app for iOS and Android devices. To ensure you have the most reliable access to your child's academic information, we recommend using the PowerSchool Website Portal https://minot.ps.state.nd.us/public instead of the mobile app.
To make this as convenient as possible, you can add a shortcut to the PowerSchool Website Portal directly on your iPhone or Android device's home screen. This will allow you to access the portal just like you would with any other app.
Adding a PowerSchool Website Portal Shortcut to your home screen on your device:

For iPhone Users:

Open Safari on your iPhone.
Go to the PowerSchool Website Portal: [https://minot.ps.state.nd.us/public].
Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen (it looks like a square with an arrow pointing up).
Scroll down and select Add to Home Screen.
Enter a name for the shortcut, like "PowerSchool."
Tap Add in the upper right corner.
The shortcut will now appear on your home screen, allowing you to access the PowerSchool Website Portal easily.
For Android Users:

Open Chrome on your Android device.
Go to the PowerSchool Website Portal: [https://minot.ps.state.nd.us/public].
Tap the Menu button (three dots) in the upper right corner.
Select Add to Home screen.
Enter a name for the shortcut, like "PowerSchool."
Tap Add, and the shortcut will appear on your home screen.

ParentSquare
District & School Communication to Parents
We are excited to announce we are using ParentSquare for our district and school communications. ParentSquare is the district's notification system for both emergency and general school & district notifications, primarily with email, text and app notifications. ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number from PowerSchool. We encourage parents to download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.
ParentSquare Features:
Receive messages from the school via email, text or app notification (general and emergency messages)
Choose to receive information as it comes or all at once with a daily digest around 6pm
Communicates in preferred language
Direct message teachers, staff

Superintendent Vacancy

Minot Public Schools, Minot, North Dakota, seeks a highly qualified superintendent who is certified in ND or is eligible to become certified. The successful candidate will assume responsibilities of the position July 1, 2024. Dakota Leadership Solutions (DLS) has been engaged to assist the school board with this search.

The Superintendent in collaboration with the leadership cabinet: Assists the board with data-informed goal development and takes actions necessary to accomplish these goals; Competently carries out roles and responsibilities as assigned by the board and takes steps to assist the board with understanding and executing its role; Oversees qualified, high-quality district staff and maintains positive and professional working relationships with them; Oversees the development, review, and implementation of academic and support programming that fosters the growth and success of all district students; Is engaged in the community and takes steps necessary to ensure the community is engaged in district schools; and Efficiently and prudently oversees school district finances and facilities, equipment, and supplies; operational decisions are aligned with the district’s goals and strategic plan. Supervises directly or indirectly every district employee excluding the business manager. Manages stakeholder relationships in the community; communicates and collaborates with other public agencies, elected officials, community organizations, and advocates. Supports the relationship between the Minot Public School District and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with clients, visitors, and District staff; maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, client records, and District information; follows compliance rules governing child abuse; performs related duties as required or assigned.
